Bitten all over...

I am so tired today. This longweekend we spent by going camping with my husbands almost entire clan. We were 17 people invading the camping site on Saturday, at Emily Park, and on Sunday we went further east to visit Marmora, our last desintation before heading back to Toronto. Yes, I can get down and dirty, I am not all about the glam...lol

After getting home we unpacked the car, we also washed and cleaned it, which I have begged my hubby to do for the longest time, yay! Now I got a pile of clothes smelling like burnt firewood that needs to be taken care of. Considering we only went for one night, there is a lot of stuff to clean afterwards...

Things to note for next camping excursion:
* Bring a pillow
* More clothes
* A better flashlight
* Bug spray

A good swim...

Today, I called up the girls and we went for a swim and relaxed and talked in the sauna. A very needed moment of pampering after a hard day at work. I feel a great need to find a new job, something new to challenge me. At the moment I feel there are to much conflicts and negative tention hovering in the air.

And once again I am dreaming of escaping to visit my folks back home....

I got what you want...

This is how my flat iron looks like. There are different ones but this got the tourmaline plates which is supposedly better and leaves your hair even more silky smooth...

Best purchase ever!

Been a while since I came in here. Haven't even crossed my mind, but anyways.... I purchased this great flat iron this weekend. Its the best ever, considering my hair only stays flat with lots of chemicals which in the end leaves it dry and brittle.

You know those stands at the mall where they ask if they can straighten your hair with their flattening iron. The one I'm talking about is called, Cortex. That is the one I got, but for only 1/8 of the price at the mall. At the mall it cost 220 dollars plus tax, and at Winners where I got it, it is only 35 dollar plus tax. My best buy ever, only thing I don't like is that the iron gets really hot and that concerns me when putting it down for it to cool off, but so far so good. I am a happy camper for sure!

For people that doesn't think it will work, trust me it works! I put it to the test this morning, by going to bed last night with wet hair and I managed to straighten it all within 10 minutes, and NO chemicals at all in my hair. My hair is frizzy and wavy and reacts to any kind of moisture that is in the air, but with Cortex it stays the way it should stay. My hair is soft and smooth and doesn't tangle up into knots either. GO AND BUY IT!

Will post a pic of the one I got later :D

Crappy weather

I have never experienced such a bad June since I came to Toronto. It is just gray and dull and so depressing with this weather. I want to walk around in shorts and light flowy dresses, wear some open-toe shoes and just enjoy the sun.

I bought a bike yesterday, I have decided this summer is going to be packed with eventfull activities such as biking. I have a park just two or three blocks down my street, which apparently has these great trails you can go on and explore....

This weekend we have a community bbq coming up...if the weather allows it I guess we will make an apparence...

Otherwise, I think I will snuggle up with my honey and go watch Kung Fu Panda, I have been waiting for it since I saw the trailer last year to see it.

Longing for Summer...

Oh gosh, cant wait for the summer to come. We just got back from our honeymoon to Cancun a week ago. It was incredible. Food was great, weather was awesome. Picked up a lot of sun. It was my first time to an all inclusive resort, and I must say that being treated like royalty definitely suits me. Cant wait to go for another trip like that....hopefully soon!

E=MC2

Anyone checked out Mariah's new body? I am envious! I have started hitting the gym myself pretty regularly now for exactly a month. Prepping for our honeymoon to Cancun. To get Mariah's body I would have to live at the gym and sleepwalk on the treadmill. Good workout MC!

Long Gone...

So, I know I haven't been on here for a really long time as usual. But I cant seem to find time or inspiration to plot down a few lines now and then.

But lets give it another shoot. I wont be in updating the blog that often so I'm not going to make any promises. Whatever falls into my head will pop up here whenever I guess...

Back in TO

I'm back in Toronto, and when I got here there was this huge snowstorm that flew in with me. We had to take a detour to Montreal and refuel, which cost us an hour in delays. I was quite beat when I finally got to bed around 3 am, cause I am one of those people who cant go to sleep until I have unpacked. Now being back here I have noticed that my skin is feeling a lot dryer and my hair a bit more frizzy and my lips are all chapped. I found this Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub a product from Philosophy available at Sephora. It renews dry, flaky lips and exfoliates them and makes them soft and smooth in seconds. Your rub a small amount on your lips until they are smooth, and then just wipe your lips off with a tissue or washcloth. Doesn't that sound like a great product or what? Something I am going to look into, I will give a review if I can manage to get my hands on it. Its a bit pricey, $15 dollars for 0.5 oz.

Tip Top

My favourite ice cream. When I was a kid, I used to love this ice cream, Tip Top. But all of the sudden they stopped making it. And a few years ago when I came back to visit here in Sweden, they had brought back this wonderful delight. Makes me feel like a kid again when I see it.

Anniversary's Count...

Someone asked me, "doesn't all anniversary's get scratched and become one when you get married? I said, "They all count, and that's why you my friend are still single." I think all anniversary's should count. I am not saying that every anniversary needs to be extravagant with fancy dinners and gifts. Just acknowledged and appreciated. Happy One Year Engagement Anniversary, baby. Miss you and love you!

A Moose is a Moose...

Last weekend we went to a Swedish flea market. You could get pretty good deals there, especially if you go there on a Sunday. I saw this blanket and I just had to have it. I have noticed that I like to collect blankets. They are so nice to snuggle up under when your relaxing on the couch, or cuddling up with your sweetie. This one caught my eye, because of the moose's. Perfect to keep you warm and cuddly in the winter.

Since I wasn't with my Sweetheart on Valentines, I took this pictures of some baked Valentine goodies...

Looks as yummy as my honey...

Back at home

So, I know I haven't been blogging for over a month now. But there has just been so much craziness going on and a lot of work. And unfortunately, the blog had to suffer. Hopefully, I can get my writing spirit going again.

Right now, I'm in Sweden, visiting my parents. Its not really vacation as I have brought my work with me. My trip is for four wonderful weeks, and I have already spent two of them. The first week I did take off from work, and I spent a couple of days in Stockholm browsing around.

So what can I say about this capital of Sweden, it has changed quite a bit since I last been there over three years ago. More stores and cozy cafe´s. One thing that I do miss in Toronto, is the Swedish cafe´s. No matter how busy you are here, you always have time to sit down with friends or family and have a cup of coffee and something delicious to go with it.

I came back to Sweden right in time for this delicious baked goodie, a Semla. Which is a traditional baked goodie in February, which everyone eats on a particular day, Fettisdag, or like me, every chance you get. Doesn't it look yummy!

This is called a Semla, delicious.

Mark Jacobs working with Posh

It has been reported that Victoria Beckham is going to star in Marc Jacobs's ad campaign for SS08. Apparently Mark Jacobs has praised the Posh Girl by saying, "She was a great sport. She agreed to do something rough and tough and quite raw. It wasn't days of hair and makeup." Here is a sneak peak at the ad. I cant wait to see the rest of the ad campaign.

A new look?

So the Spice Girls shared the runway with Roberto Cavalli on Monday during the designer's fashion show. The girls were there to support the Milan Fashion Week. And Posh seem to have a new look, which includes a headband. She has been spotted showing off this style twice already. Is this going to become a trend? I really hope this will be one of those fashion things that will be seen and then quickly forgotten about.

Perfect for Spring

Ooh, this amazing oversized leather clutch is from Oscar de la Renta, Doheny Clutch. Makes me want to get a tan and wear summer dresses. It is white crinkle patent leather with a large magnetic flap to close, and the clutch has a zipper top. Its that perfect everyday clutch, that you want to put under your arm this spring.

To go or not to go...

So I have been thinking of going back home to visit my parents. At first my mom suggested I would stop in Vienna, Austria and meet up with her there. And then after a week of visiting my Aunt and her family, eating delicious food and seeing the sights, we would head back to where I really wanna go, home. I have been to Vienna many times before, and the place is just amazing, but I just don't feel a week would be enough. I don't want to go and feel, I should have stayed longer. Well, for now I'm just going to think about. Interestingly, this picture came up. Should I consider this a sign? Its a picture of Schwedenplatz in Vienna, Austria.

Preloved

Yesterday after work I decided to take a walk down Queen St. Always when I walk down there I end up going into all of these odd looking stores. Its worth stepping into them cause you never know what you will find. I seem to always discover another store I haven't gone into. Yesterday was no exception. I stepped into a place called Preloved. They make one-of-a-kind designer pieces for both men and women. Their pieces are made out of vintage clothing, which they make brand "new" again. They have three lines: Preloved, Handcut, and Bloved line.

Dinner at Milestone's

Milestone's had a set dinner special for New Year's Eve. I cant remember the names of the dishes, but we ordered the Angus Beef Steak with Shrimp and the Portobello Mushroom Chicken. We also got side salads and an appetizer, Spinach and Artichoke Dip. For dessert we had a White Chocolate Brownie with Ice cream and a Ganache Torte. Along with my food I had this incredibly tasty Bellinis. Everything was just delicious!

New Years Eve Outfit

So, I didn't end up wearing any of the suggested outfits that I had in mind. I wore a silver cardigan and a black layered top, paired up with a pair of denims. You cant really see the details of the top but you can see a ribbon which is tied into a bow. This is what I wore for the dinner at Milestone's. Food was very good and the company was great.

Later we all came back to our place, where my sister in-law and her family also joined us to bring in the New Year. The Eve turned out to be just the way I would have hoped. Once we got home I slipped into something more comfortable. A dark purple cotton dress and I kept the cardigan on, I also put on a pair of leggings so I wouldn't freeze. It was an evening with a mixture of glam and cozy feeling.
